Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThis book is all about the sites related to the epic text, the Ramayana. The ancient Kishkinda, present name Anegundi, where Rama met Hanuman at the Rishyamuk Parbat, is very much accessible. The grandeur of the architecture exhibits the wealth and power of the largest Hindu Empire of Vijay Nagar in Hampi. No other place is inexhaustibly photogenic than the sites around the silently flowing Tungabhadra River, where the stupendous region of granite boulders depict the glorious past.
All the magnificent places in Sri Lanka where the tales and legends took place still exist today and can be visited. They bring wonderful history of the Ramayana to life. Janaki Temple and Dhanush Dham in Nepal are idyllic places to explore. The desire to explore the world has always been a driving force within me. I caught the travelling bug when I married to my wife, Janak in 1977. Coming to England opened many opportunities to traverse all around the world. The visit to Ayodhya Dham lit a spark in me and led me to many wonderous places.
Prabhu Sharma
I owe my life's success to my grandmother's prayers and teachings. Growing up in Hadiabad (Phagwara), Lord Hanuman's blessings guided me. After my parents losing four children, my grandmother vowed to pray daily at Chadha's temple for my long life. She kept her promise for 31 years, walking barefoot daily.
After basic education, I stayed with my aunt and uncle in Kartarpur. My parents arranged my engagement to Janak in England without us meeting. I respected their decision and joined her in 1977 after completing my Post Graduation in Economics. Contrary to my father's wish for me to become a lawyer, I entered the UK retail business. Since Christmas Eve 1977, I've sold sports goods, spirits, and groceries. I bought my independent business in May 1981. Despite owning a shop selling various products, I'm a non-smoker, vegetarian, and teetotaller. I dedicate my successes to my grandmother's faith and my family's support.
