Notion Press is a publishing platform for authors from around the world. We make it easy for you to create, publish, and distribute your book in Print and as an Ebook.
You retain all the rights to your book! We exist to help you reach the market via our distribution partners and act as a publishing label. We work with a non-exclusive publishing agreement meaning, we don't own any of your content and you can even publish it elsewhere if you wish.
ISBN stands for 'International Standard Book Number'. It's basically a 13 digit identification number that booksellers and libraries use to identify books, magazines, newspapers or other publications. Separate ISBNs are assigned for the paperback, hardbound and eBook versions of your book.
You can track the sales of your book on your author dashboard. You can also see your earnings, track payout and order copies of your book at a subsidised price.
The inventory is Printed-On-Demand (POD) based on sales velocity to ensure that the book does not go out of stock. Notion Press works with its various print partners across the globe to make sure your book is printed and delivered to your buyer within the turn around time. This ensures that the latest version of your book is always available when readers order it from the Notion Press Store or various eCommerce sites.
Profit is calculated as the difference between the MRP and expenses incurred during the production and distribution of the book. Profit = MRP – Expenses (Distribution Cost + Production Cost).
Writers who publish using the Outpublish Program get 100% of the net profits from the book.
Writers who publish using the Notion Press Platform get 60% or 80% of the net profits from the sale of each copy of the book, depending on the distribution plan selected
Sample Calculation:
Let us assume, the MRP of a book is Rs.100, and the production cost of the book is Rs.30/-. Now, the profits would be calculated as
Profits = MRP - (Distribution Cost + Production Cost)
= Rs.100 - (50 + 30) = Rs. 20
Rs.20/- would be your earnings per book when sold via Amazon.in, Flipkart and all other eCommerce sites and in retail stores.
Notion Press charges a 20% distribution fee on all online store orders to account for Payment Processing and Order Fulfilment Charges.
Profits are calculated as Rs.100 - (20 + 30) = Rs.50
Author Earnings if you have chosen the Outpublish Program (100% net profits):
Notion Press Online Store= Rs. 50
Other Stores = Rs. 20
Author Earnings if you have chosen the India/International Distribution (80% net profits):

Profits from print book sales in India: All print books sold via Indian eCommerce sites are reported on your Author Dashboard as soon as orders are confirmed and determined for each month. Your earnings for each month is paid out within 40 days from the end of the month the sales are reported in.
For example, all sales for the month of January are paid to you by the 10th of March. Profits from International print book sales: Print copies of your book are sold via various international eCommerce sites and are updated on your author dashboard every 90 days after accounting for any returns and taxes levied on the book in each geography where your book sells. Your earnings for each month are paid to you in the subsequent month. For example, all international sales in the month of January are updated on your dashboard in the month of April and the profits from January are paid to you on the 10th of May. Profits from eBook sales: eBooks are sold across the world by multiple retailers. eBook sales across various retailers and geographies are reconciled and updated on your dashboard every 90 days. Your earnings for each month are paid to you in the subsequent month. For example, all eBook sales in the month of January are updated on your dashboard in the month of April and the profits from January are paid to you on the 10th of May.
Copyright protects you and your content against possible infringement. Copyright registration of your content is done with the Registrar of Copyright, Govt. of India. You will be issued a copyright certificate after government verification. The duration for getting a copyright registration in India is about 12 months. An Indian Communication Address is required to apply for the copyright.

Copy Editing is the process of making a manuscript grammatically correct.
What is included: Our editors will review the manuscript and suggest changes in grammar, punctuation, spelling, tone and consistency to make it as error-free as possible. You would be able to accept or reject the suggestions and post queries on the ones you need more clarity on. This would be a collaborative effort with you and the editor and the final manuscript would be the result of a consensus between both parties.
What is not included: We would not be reviewing the plot of the book or rewriting major portions of the manuscript that change the writing style and voice of the author.
Have a professional editor check your book for gaps in plot / content to publish a high quality book and improve the reading experience for your readers. It involves tightening and clarifying at a chapter, scene, paragraph, and sentence level. Substantive editing also includes Copy Editing.
How does this work?- A typical substantive editing process can run upto three to four rounds-
Round 1: The edited manuscript with editorial inputs is sent to the author. Author reviews the suggested changes and adds comments wherever necessary.
Round 2: The editor reviews the author’s comments and instructions to further edit and copy edit the manuscript.
Round 3: Editor focuses on the minutiae of the writing and proof reads the entire manuscript for finalization. The author reviews the final edits and confirms their approval of the final version of the manuscript.

Under Premium Interior Design your book's interior will be typeset in compliance with Chicago Manual of Style. Up to 200 graphical elements (tables, images, graphs and equations) are allowed. All graphical elements have to be provided by the author and only those elements will be used. For Coffee table books or Cook books or Photography books please refer to 'Custom Interior Design'.
The Book Interior Revision service gives you the freedom to make revisions to the contents of your book once the book has been typeset. We cannot however create a completely new interior layout for your book. If the changes require a completely new layout to be created, feel free to choose from our list of book interior design services.
You will receive a digital proof at each step in the design process. You can use this file to verify changes recommended by you, request new changes or even proof your final document before your book goes into print. Important: As a self-published author, it is your responsibility to give the best and error-free content to your readers. You are requested to take time during the final proofing to make sure that there are no errors in the book.
