Mathura Kalauny
Mathura Kalauny was born in 1947, in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand.He started writing in 1980 and founded Kalayan Theatre Group in 1988, He has produced and directed 28 plays under the Kalayan banner till date. The group has staged two plays in Dubai (UAE). Kayapalat has been translated and staged in Kannada.He has also done pioneering work in putting Hindi on the Web. He started a webzine Kalayan Patrika in 1999. At that time, Kalayan Patrika was only the second Hindi web-mag.He has been honoured on many platforms both local and international and has been invited to read his plays in Antarashtriya Hindi Sammelan in Cambodia and Bejing.

Plays – 12. Novelettes- 4. Kahani Sangrah -1. Short stories - approximately 150 in majorHindi publications of the country.He has also written a 12 short 20-minutes plays, 3 Radio plays and one for Doordarshan.
After completing his tenure as Research Manager in ITC R&D, he presently lives in Bangalore, and devotes his time to writing, theatre, and training youngsters in the art of theatre
