Group Captain Mohonto Panging Pao, Vayu Sena Medal (Retd)
Group Captain Mohonto Panging Pao is a retired fighter pilot who hails from Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh and is transforming from being a fighter to a writer! An experienced fighter pilot with over 3300 hours on different fighter aircraft, he has the distinction of being the only person from North East India to command a Sukhoi-30 Squadron and also a presidential awardee. He is a post graduate and has widely travelled in India and abroad. Having flown extensively over North East India, he has a bird’s eye view of the region. He has published a book titled ‘Kéérook and other stories from North East India’ which was appreciated by many readers. He is also a regular columnist, a social activist and an emerging entrepreneur of Northeast India.
