This fiction revolves around Gajendra, an unscrupulous builder and owner of the quarry who was the kingpin in physical elimination of bonded labour who defy him. He was instrumental in shutting down an elementary school in alliance with a toper, an ex-Village President to ensure chain of cheap child labour is continuous. Srinivasan a free trade union functionary teams up with young Radhika, a social worker from Bombay in evolving a scheme for starting the defunct elementary school to draw the child labour away from quarry and its closure on grounds of environmental violations. Mohan, a quarry worker joins then in their crusade.
