Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalMr D Raveendranathan, IFS (Retd), was recruited as Forest Range Officer in the year 1970 by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Initially he served as Forest Range Officer in Government Rubber Plantations, Keeriparai; Plantation Ranges in Gandamanur and Kodaikanal. He was in charge of Srivilliputtur, Sankarankoil, Tirunelveli and Shencottai territorial Ranges. He was posted in the Social Forestry Ranges of Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi Districts. He was promoted as Assistant Conservator of Forests and deputed as Divisional Manger in the Arasu Rubber corporation in the year 1991, then as Wildlife warden in the Grizzled giant squirrel sanctuary Srivilliputtur. Further he was posted as Deputy Director in the Kalakkadu Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, then posted as Regional Manager in the Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation, Villupuram. He was promoted as Deputy Conservator of Forests in 1999 and posted as Divisional Forest Officer in Vellore. He was conferred IFS and posted as District Forest Officer, Tirunelveli, Divisional Forest Officer Ramanathapuram and finally at Tirunelveli Social Forestry Division. He retired from service on 28 February-2007 in the IFS- Junior Administrative Grade – Deputy Conservator of Forests.

Mr. D. RAVEENDRANATHAN, IFS (Retd)., is a post-graduate in Sociology, who was selected for the training in the Southern Forest Rangers’ College at Coimbatore in 1970. On completion of 2 years of training in 1972, he was posted as Forest Range Officer in Tamil Nadu. Throughout his career, he has served diligently and worked in various forests and sanctuaries in different designations. These include services at the Arasu Rubber Corporation, Grizzled Giant Squirrel Sanctuary, Kalakkadu Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve, Ambasamudram in the Western Ghats, Kanyakumari to Coimbatore Districts and Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation at Villupuram. He was permitted to retire from service on superannuation in the year 2007. On the whole, he has served in 15 Districts in Tamil Nadu.
On his retirement, he started writing books about thrilling experiences in protecting the forests, wildlife and environment. He has published the following books internationally through Notion Press. This is the seventh book to his credit. His book, Developments lead to Pollution and Depletion of Natural Resources was approved as a syllabus reference book for M.Sc. Environmental Science by the Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu since 2018. His book, Incontrovertible Impacts of Global Warming was congratulated by the Executive Secretary of United Nations Climate Change Secretariat, Geneva, Germany.
