He did his MBBS at BJ Medical College in Pune, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine at the prestigious JIPMER, Pondicherry. Dr R. Santosh was born in Pune. He completed his schooling at St. Vincent’s High School, Pune. He did his MBBS at BJ Medical College in Pune, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine at the prestigious JIPMER, Pondicherry. He did his DM (fellowship) in Endocrinology at the premier institute, PGI Chandigarh.
He started his career at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. After three years, he turned to entrepreneurship. He is one of the founder-directors of the Magna Centres for Obesity, Diabetes, and Endocrinology and is the Chief Endocrinologist at the Filmnagar, Hyderabad unit.
As a medical professional, he has forty-seven publications, including four textbook chapters. He has spoken at more than nine hundred scientific forums, which include international, national, and regional diabetes and endocrine conferences. He has been an invited faculty member at nine international conferences to date.
He has won the Abdul Kalam Award for excelling in the field of Endocrinology.
He has written five books, four of which have been commercial successes. His third book, The Subconscious, was a self-published book that debuted at the number one position on the Amazon Best Sellers list. The books include:
1. The Fifth Dimension: Self-published. 2014. Withdrawn from the market for reworks. The storyline is being considered for an OTT platform as a web series with two seasons and sixteen episodes.
2. The Science Redemption: Published by Leadstart Corp. 2015.
3. The Subconscious: Self-published. 2017. Being considered for an OTT platform as a web series with two seasons and sixteen episodes.
4. The Creation Conundrum: Self-published. 2020. Being considered for an OTT platform as an original movie.
5. Been There Before: Self-published. 2022. His biggest success in terms of the number of books sold.
He is a cult follower of Pink Floyd and has a keen interest in cricket and football.
