Obsessed with aviation since early childhood, he joined the Indian Air Force and was commissioned in 1967. He served in some of the remotest corners of the country during his days in uniform.
As an operational helicopter pilot, he took part in the 1971 war with Pakistan and was part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) in Sri Lanka. He opted for Voluntary Retirement from the Air Force as a Wing Commander in 1990.
Post-retirement, he has been a regular contributor to several aviation publications as well as to newspapers. His hobbies include singing and recording country music, sketching, cooking and photography.
He has written and published two books - The Devil’s Workshop and Talespin. Both the books are compilations of short stories. A few of the stories borrow situations from his life in the Air Force, others hint of the mysterious and the supernatural and the rest are simple narrations of occurances in day-to-day life, generously suffused with humour.
Wing Commander JT (Jaytee) Nayaham lives in Bengaluru.
