Dr Pulak Sahay

Dr. Pulak Sahay is a thespian who has done a host of plays from Arthur Miller, Tennessee Williams, and Noel Coward to Robert Bolt and Shakespeare from his teenage years till he was in his mid-fifties. Soon after leaving the amateur stage, he switched to writing poetry in 2006 which has culminated in a book of poems that he artistically has collated now, into what he calls “A Bouquet of Poems”. Apart from poetry, Dr. Sahay paints in acrylic, and is a keen wildlife and landscape photographer, and is in the process of writing a book on medieval Indian history, with his grandchildren, as the target audience.

Dr. Pulak Sahay was a Consultant Gastroenterologist in the National Health Service (NHS) of UK, for nearly 30 years. Being the upper gut cancer lead in his Trust, he was so distraught by the lack of knowledge regarding “Reflux Disease” amongst his patients, that in April 2010 he launched a medical charity called CARD (Campaign Against Reflux Disease) which is a Registered UK charity, whose sole aim is to spread education about the banes and complications of Reflux Disease, as well as outline its life style management.

The CARD charity website is www.cardcharity.co.uk where important information is available regarding Reflux Disease.

Dr. Sahay did hold a One Man exhibition of his paintings and poetry at Pontefract in West Yorkshire, UK where he sold his work and donated the entire proceeds to a Reflux Disease charity.

Using his photographs he has made greeting cards, that he has sold with all proceeds going to the CARD Charity.

He also has a photography website which is www.wildcardcharity.com and which was launched in July 2023 where wildlife and landscape photographs taken by him, from all the 7 continents over a period of 18 years are displayed.

Everything that Dr. Pulak Sahay now does, is always in aid of the CARD Charity, with the aim of spreading medical education about Reflux Disease. To prevent and curb the onslaught of Reflux Disease, has now become his magnificent obsession.
